Vietnam: Standard Chartered Bank supports Aide et Action’s coronavirus response activities

June 3, 2020 by Aide et Action Southeast Asia

Aide et Action is delighted to have been granted funding from Standard Chartered Bank to support our COVID-19 response activities in Vietnam.

Standard Chartered Bank has made the headlines for their generous support to multiple organizations tackling COVID. This includes funding US$85,200 to National Hospital Of Tropical Diseases to purchase basic/essential medical equipment, US$81,800 to Daigon Children Charity to support children and youth in difficult situations, and US$33,000 to Aide et Action Vietnam to support ethnic minority children. The Bank has also donated 70,000 medical face masks to two hospitals – Duc Giang General Hospital & Cho Ray Hospital – to support frontline health care staff and patients.

The funding Aide et Action has received is part of Standard Chartered Bank’s “Work From Home Workout Challenge” campaign, which raised 450 million VND (US$19,436) and the Bank’s internal fundraising campaign “Contributing one day to drive back Covid-19”, whereby staff can directly contribute their salary (the amount can be equivalent to one working hour, one working week or any amount) to a Global Relief Fund with the value of US$50 million. This Fund will be used to implement relief activities in the short run and long run to support communities in the Bank’s network of 19 markets, including Vietnam.
