Thirty years ago, the world made a promise to children: to do everything possible to protect and promote their rights to live and develop, to learn and to flourish, to make their voices heard and reach their full potential.
Yet this promise materialised on 20 November 1989 on the occasion of the adoption at the United Nations International Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC), has not been fully held. Although the 196 signatory states having ratified the CRC have committed to respect the right to life, good health, non-discrimination or freedom of expression and opinion, even these days many children are not protected and are thus exposed to multiple dangers that jeopardise their future.
The right to education is at the heart of Aide et Action’s mission. This right provides each child with the keys needed to prepare for their adult life, to succeed in getting out of poverty, or to ensure their protection and that of others.
We listen, we educate, we protect and we accompany those who need it most. Our goal is simple: allow younger generations to fulfil their rights and build a better future.
You will see in this special report of our latest magazine, through our actions around the world for almost 40 years, we are committed to advancing the rights of children. We listen, we educate, we protect and we accompany those who need it most. Our goal is simple: allow younger generations to fulfil their rights and build a better future.
Happy reading and happy end-of-the-calendar-year!
