Inauguration of New School Building at Hun Sen Prek Tanen Primary School, Ampeng Village, Kep Province, 21 October 2018

December 13, 2018 by support author

21/10/2018 – When organizations work together in partnerships wonderful things can happen. After learning from the local community in Angkoul Commune, Damnak Chang Eur District in Kep Province that the school infrastructure in the area was insufficient to offer all primary school children in the area a quality education in a child-friendly environment, Aide et Action Cambodia, together with iLEAD International School, and TX Foundation decided to build the required infrastructure.

Sharing the strong belief that education transforms lives and that no child should be left behind, and with kind funding by the TX Foundation, the three partners set out to build what was required at Prek Tanen to ensure more children in the area have access to quality primary education: a brand-new school building with 6 classrooms (including a library), a teachers’ room, 2 toilet blocks as well as the installation of a pump and water tank. Works were completed in late August.

As a result, an extra 210 children will be enrolled in the upgraded Prek Tanen Primary School lifting the total of students accommodated at Prek Tanen Primary School from 150 to 360 in the academic year 2018-2019.

The official inauguration of the new school building was held on Sunday 21 October 2018, at Hun Sen Prek Tanen Primary School in Ampeng Village, Angkoul Commune, Damnak Chang Eur District, Kep Province.

The ceremony was attended by about 650 people among whom His Excellency Ken Satha, Governor of Kep Province; the Presidents of Aide et Action; the Founder of the TX Foundation, the Principal of the iLEAD International School, provincial and local authorities as well as teachers, parents, youth, students, and other members of the community.

Funding Organization: TX Foundation (Tzu-Xing Charitable Foundation)
TX Foundation is an international private philanthropic foundation that provides funding for the construction of education facilities and that supports programs that have positive and lasting impact on the lives of children, women and families around the world.
