Aide et Action built new toilets to improve the hygiene quality for the children in Wat Khnong primary school located in suburb of Phnom Penh.
Realized at the end of April with the total budget of $300, this construction also allows the girls and the boys to have their separated places. In fact, two toilets exists already in the school, but it is not enough for hundred children in this school, and some of them, especially the girls, had to come back home in case needed. These new toilets can thus reduce the number of absence of the children.
“I can use these toilettes. I no longer miss the class as I no longer come back home in case needed”, told a girl in grad 4.
The school director also expressed his satisfaction towards this achievement as it can improve the hygiene for the children in the school. “I would like to thanks to the association to make the school environment more appropriate”, he added.
Besides these toilets, the drinking water system was also connected to this school.
