-Aide et Action, Cambodia-
On 28 December 2015 Mr. LAM Socheat,Head of Program CCOSC of Aide et Action Cambodia and the CCOSC Program team visited their partner organisation in Kampong Cham Province, Buddhism for Social Development Action Organization (BSDA). BSDA supports street children through teaching English Language class, Khmer Traditional Music class and provide scholarship to out of school children in the target area. Street children arrive by BSDA’TUKTUK to study English language or Khmer Traditional Music at a time suitable to the children, as well as this, the time for studying is opposite with their public school. Through visiting AEA saw that all children enjoy learning and reading books with BSDA organization.
Save the Children Organization has cooperated with the community council to build a temporary school has two classes in DounMeas Village, Srae Char Commune, Snoul District of Kratie Province. In that, Save the Children has supported package scholarship to Out Of School Children in this community. The commune council in association with Kilo 62 school director has committed to help community children to get education service.
Toul Traing temporary primary school in Kratie Province was built through cooperation between KAPE Organization and the community. There are 100 students studying and three teachers. This temporary school has all levels of primary school. A teacher is responsible for two levels per time. This semester KAPE supported community to build three temporary schools.
Komar Pikar Foundation in Kratie Province is helping 36 Children With Disabilities(CWD) (Physical disability and mental disability) through the Self Help Group project for disabilities parents and treating CWD at home, teaching CWD at school and take care CWD at KPF center by KPF staffs and volunteer from abroad. Head of Program CCOSC visited a child living with mental disability, and family was supported by KPF. CWD’s parent was thankful with KPF for teaching their child to be more understood and for information provided to the family. This child was taken at KPF center to treat and take care a whole day (five days per week), this makes it easy for her family members goes to work far from house without having to worry about her care.
Srae Kor Primary School is in Steung Treng Province is supported by Save the Children. The most of students in this school are Laos minority. Mr. LAM Socheat talked with parents of children who received a scholarship from Save the Children about the value of education and appreciated to parents that send children to school.
On 30 December 2015 Ockenden Organization had a Campaign on “The Value of Education” in Rattanakiri Province. Around 100 participants are of a Charay minority. In this occasion, Mr. LAM Socheat, Head of Program CCOSC speaks to participants about the advantage of education and encourages parents to send their children to school. After the event finished AEA team and partners (PLAN organization, Ockenden organization) have visited Yeoun Chas community primary school in Borkeo District, RattanakiriProvince wassupported by Ockenden organization.
PLAN Organization is building six class rooms and a library in Number Seven Primary School is in Lungkhung Commune. Now two classes are studying in the yard house of the people nearest the school. PLAN organization has also supported a scholarship to OSC in Rattanakiri Province. Chief of commune mentioned that this commune still has a community far from this school around 15km has more than a hundred people are living without school. He plans to gather budget from people in this community to build the school and propose to district for education to have teacher.
CARE Organization has conducted the training to SSC in Rattanakiri Province, around 90 SSC are from different ethnic minorities. Mr. LAM Socheat, Head of Program CCOSC spoke to all participants and motivated them to cooperate with relevant educators and encourage parents to send their children to school. A SSC promised that she will be response in her job to help children in her community. CARE organization is supporting multiple language schools through providing school materials, producing the book with two languages for studying and teaching. Multiple language class helps ethnic minority children to learn their own language and Khmer language.
