His Excellency Dr. Hang Chhoun Naron, Minister of the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Cambodia, presented a Letter of Appreciation to Aide et Action’s Cambodian Country Director Samphors Vorn on 23 December 2019.
This letter was presented to Aide et Action in recognition of the important role we have played in building quality early childhood care and
education (ECCE) for children in Cambodia.
Over the past three years, we have worked closely with local
authorities as well as the Department of Education and key stakeholders to promote the enrolment of preschool age students; to improve school
readiness; to provide technical support and training to early childhood
key actors; to create sustainable quality, child-friendly learning
environments and; to expand community child development and care programs across Cambodia, including the provinces of Kandal, Takeo, Kep, Prey Veng, Kampong Thom, Kampot and Siem Reap.
Aide et Action has contributed to building state and community preschools in 21 locations and renovated 88 classrooms. Over 8,000 young children – 46% of whom are female – were successfully enrolled in school.
In partnership with communities, Aide et Action also provided 200 daily school meals to children as well as trained hundreds of teachers and parents on teaching methodologies and positive parenting educations.
Across Cambodia, Aide et Action is committed to ensuring children marginalized by poverty, disability, ethnicity, and geographical remoteness receive improved access to quality education.
