Aide et Action intensifies regional collaboration in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) with new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Bandung, Indonesia, 05/12/2018

Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) has been one of the pillars of Aide et Action’s work to make a quality education a reality for every child in Southeast Asia for more than 15 years now. And although we have significant experience and know-how in this field through the implementation of various ECCE projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China, as a learning organization, we are always keen to improve and grow, so we can further the cause of ECCE more widely and effectively. That’s why we have been exploring new opportunities for regional collaboration – through synergies and collaboration we can make even bigger strides in bringing quality ECCE to all in the Southeast Asia region!

So it is with great pleasure that we can announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed last week in Bandung, Indonesia, between Aide et Action International Southeast Asia & China and the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture which allows us to collaborate with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care, Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP). SEAMEO CECCEP is one of the 24 specialist SEAMEO centers in the region that undertake training and research programs in the fields of education, science, and culture thereby making a significant contribution to developing and strengthening these sectors across the ASEAN countries.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Didik Suhardi, Ph.D., Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Savy Lach, Regional Director of Aide et Action International Southeast Asia and China. The signing of the MoU reflects the strong desire of both parties to strengthen our cooperation and establishes our collaboration in the fields of early childhood care, education and parenting through strengthened partnerships, and in the promotion of sustainable human resources development. In particular, both organizations will cooperate in the areas of:

  1. Research (including data collection, dissemination of information, expertise, scientific materials, publications, and information);
  2. Development of human resources;
  3. Promotion of advocacy and partnerships;
  4. And other activities in the fields of early childhood care, education and parenting.

We hope to be contributing essential ECCE field expertise, finding synergies, exchanging skills and knowledge, and making an impact, together with SEAMEO CECCEP at policy level to make quality ECCE a reality for all in Southeast Asia.
